Another tough weekend of practices.
Exhausting scrimmages and drills on Saturday are only a warm-up to what happened today. As a way to prepare for the World Cup (next weekend!), the NYU Nundu and Hofstra Flying Dutchman (with a name like that, you don't know what to expect!) faced off today with four games that were anything but blow outs. Hofstra had a lot of quick chasers that have appeared to master the breakaway while NYU played a pass-heavy game, monitoring the field and attempting to eliminate threats.
To me, these games were absolutely fantastic. I absolutely loved sprinting down the field and trying to find the best way to get that quaffle through one of the hoops. It was really physical (as expected), and our team had several injuries, but we should be all good to go come next weekend. I was trucked once or twice and ended up on the ground, but it wasn't anything I couldn't shake off. I even managed to score twice.
From our pre-game chant to the impromptu crowd that gathered, there was nothing I didn't like. Well, I think I should probably invest in some turf tape.
I can't wait for next weekend.
